Lily Allen Signing Report

There are some days, you just don’t want to Get Around.. lol… today is one of them. I just finished working 6 days straight and have another 4 more days to go before a day off. Sigh, I’m not complaining, work is always good, but it just really cuts into my getting around time. Lol…. Today, I am trying to get British pop star Ms. Lily Allen. I hear she is quite difficult sometimes and not all that friendly, but you just never know. Sometimes the tabloids are accurate, and sometimes they’re full it! So, I will have to see for myself.

5:01 p.m. - I hate being late. Well, I hate being late when I want to get a good spot on a barricade, that is. Late any other time, I can deal with. Anyway, I fell in love with Lily Allen when her first album came out a couple years ago. Her new album “It’s Not Me, It’s You” is a great follow up. Lily is taping a television appearance and is supposed to be on with Paul Walker, but he canceled at the last minute. Grrrr.. Now I get to put my 2005 Men’s Health back in its sleeve… sigh….

5:16 p.m. - There are about 19 people her for Lily. She is doing an outdoor concert so it will be madness later on. Madness I say, just madness! (hey, I’m typing this up at midnight so I’m a bit punchy!)

5:25 p.m. - I brought my poster for “Alright, Still” Lily’s first album and also my 7″ picture disc for “The Fear” - Lily’s first single off of “It’s Not Me, It’s You.” I have to say, I love picture discs and I am so glad they are coming back in fashion again. So many current bands like The Killers, Pet Shop Boys, Fall Out Boy, etc… have released picture discs in recent years and they are killer to get get signed and look great framed! Just my two cents!

5:33 p.m. - Every single person here missed Lily come out. She’s now on stage doing sound check. She is sound checking “The Fear” over and over, it feels like we’re all in Groundhog Day. LOL… I heard a rumor that Lindsey Lohan (AKA the Lohan) is going to show up today. Some people brought Mean Girls posters and such, but I doubt it. The Lohan just doesn’t seem that friendly these days. I still love The Lohan and wish she would come back to us… Come back Lohan come back. Did I mention that it’s midnight when I’m typing this up? I need to just stick to my notes.

5:42 p.m. - The sound checking is done. It’s funny when you see everyone stopping their conversations, and waiting to see if anything will happen. LOL…

5:43 p.m. - And there is Lily Allen. She is talking with a few people and everyone is calling out for her. She’s talking to what looks like her publicist and starts to walk over. I get my picture disc ready cause this is the thing I really want signed. Her publicist is screaming at people and yelling at them to put their cameras down or she will have Lily leave. Wow, I’ve never heard someone so vigilant about pictures!

5:45 p.m. - Lily is over at my end now and I got her on my picture disc, and then I pull out the poster. I asked her to personalize it, which she is happy to do. I will say she is super sweet and signing up a storm for everyone. She also looks great, and I really wish I could get some pics and video for you guys. She is smiling, and joking around with people. Not like what I’ve heard on some other websites and gossip columns. I’m trying to get some video and sneak my camera out, but ah crap she’s done. Poo… Next time. Either way, she was super cool, and signed a lot for everyone. That just goes to show, the best signers don’t always stop and the worst ones will stop once in a while.
