Game Worn Michael Jordan Jerseys Highlight Charity Auction

Hunt Auctions has teamed up with the Chicago Bulls to offer an exclusive group of Michael Jordan memorabilia as part of a 200-plus lot basketball live auction on Saturday, April 18. The live public auction will be held at the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame in Chicago.

Highlighting the sale will be two autographed game-worn Jordan jerseys the from the 1997-1998 season and a full red uniform from the 1996-97 season. High bid on the uniform was at $13,100 as of Sunday.

One of two lockers Jordan used on a daily basis during the height of the Chicago Bulls dynasty in the 1990s is also being offered. Autographed by Jordan, the locker was housed at the Bulls’ practice facility, the Berto Center in Deerfield, IL. A total of 13 Michael Jordan pieces were consigned by the Bulls as a fundraising effort for CharitaBulls, the Bulls' nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of Chicago's youth.

In addition to the jerseys and locker, other noteworthy items of Jordan's include autographed shoes worn during the 1995-96 playoffs, and an autographed team logo banner that hung from the rafters at the United Center for the entire 1996-97 season.

While the legendary Jordan will be the top draw, the auction also feature other basketball memorabilia, including game-used Boston Celtics uniforms and equipment from Hall of Famers Bob Cousy, Larry Bird, Robert Parish, and Kevin McHale, and a rare Harlem Globetrotters uniform from the 1950s-1960s. A basketball and jersey signed by the entire 2008 Team USA roster, the gold medal winners at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, are expected to fetch $10,000-$15,000 each. The proceeds from the sale of USA basketball memorabilia will be donated to the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame Fund.

The Auction will be held Saturday, April 18 at 1 p.m. at the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame in Chicago. A preview exhibition will run Tuesday, April 14 thru Friday, April 17 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Saturday, April 18 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Complimentary appraisals of sports memorabilia will be available for visitors of the 5 day exhibition.
