Feds Seized Art, Cars, Autographs

U.S. Postal Inspectors on Wednesday seized property from Shawn R. Merriman, the Aurora art collector accused of bilking investors of as much as $20 million. He told investigators he spent some of the money buying cars and art, including important work from Dutch and Flemish old masters. The collection, most of which has a religious theme, includes an impressive number of works from Rembrandt and Durer, who are two of the greatest printmakers of all time. He also had collected a large number of firearms. Here’s a sampling of what was taken from his Aurora home and a vacation property in Idaho:
